Sharetops supports a number of ever growing predefined web site and RSS links that can be added to the desktop quickly and conveniently. To add a predefined link please follow the instructions below:

Selecting the Add Item Sharetops menu option will present you with the following dialog:

From here select the type of web item that you would like to add to the desktop then click the Add button. As an example, to add a link to Facebook, select Web Page Link then click the add button, the following dialog will pop up:

From the popular links list select the Facebook icon. Note that when you select a link from the popular links list, the link attributes (Name, Description and Page URL) are automatically filled in for you.

After clicking the Create button a Facebook icon should appear on your web desktop as shown below:

Now that the link is situated on your desktop you can do a manner of things with it, including:

• Double click the icon to visit Facebook
• Reposition the link by clicking on it and dragging it to a new place
• Hovering over the link will bring up two icons. The icon to the top left allows you to edit the icon, whilst the icon to the top right allows you to delete the icon from your desktop

Note that the links that appear in the popular links dialog will change from time to time as they are based on the most popular links from Sharetops' Web Directory. Also, you can add items to your desktop directly from Sharetops' Web Directory
