Step 12 - Customising Text Documents and RSS Feeds

Sharetops allows you to change many of the attributes of your text documents and RSS Feeds to get them looking just the way you want. The example below shows a text document and a RSS feed with custom styling applied:

To customise a text document or RSS feed simply click the “Change Look” button to the top left hand side of the window. Clicking the change look button will open the following dialog:

The edit look dialog contains a number of options that you can change:

  • Background Colour – The colour and opacity of the text window overlays background as a gradient. You can specify the gradients start and end colours as well as the angle of the gradient
  • Foreground Colour – The colour and opacity of the main text as a gradient. You can specify the gradients start and end colours as well as the angle of the gradient
  • Font Family – The style of the text displayed in the window
  • Font Size – The size of the text displayed in the window
  • Padding - This is the amount of space that appears around your text / RSS feed
  • Heading Colour – The colour and opacity of the news headers (applicable only to RSS feeds)
  • Background URL - This option allows you to set the background wallpaper of the text document or RSS feed using a direct URL or an image from the library
  • BG. Fill mode – This option defines how the windows background wallpaper image or video is scaled to fit the window, Available options are:
    • Stretch – The background is stretched on both x and y axis to fill the windows dimensions
    • None – The background is displayed in its native size, leaving any uncovered screen area blank
    • Uniform – Scales the background until it fits within the design dimensions either on the x or y axis. leaving any uncovered screen area blank
    • UniformToFill – Scales the background until it fits within the windows dimensions on both axis, clipping any overdrawn areas
  • BG. Opacity – The opacity of the underlying background image or video. Note that lowering the opacity will make the image / video more transparent
